West Plaza Master Plan, Healdsburg, CA
ROMA worked with the City of Healdsburg to prepare a plan for the revitalization of its downtown, which focused on the development of a key publicly owned parcel fronting on the historic Town Square. The plan envisioned the creation of a new mixed use hotel project that would anchor this important location and elevate the quality of offerings for residents and visitors. We prepared the development program, developed specific development plans, identified guidelines and standards and assisted the City in its developer solicitation process.
Today, the plan has been implemented and a well-scaled hotel/mixed use project has been built. The project – the Hotel Healdsburg - provides an architectural quality that has heightened the identity and qualities of the Wine Country setting and provided a high level of amenity and a publicly spirited place. It provides a massing and integration of public and quasi-public spaces that extend the public realm into the hotel and help to make it a more inviting place. The Hotel Healdsburg and the unique qualities it provided contributed to making Healdsburg a key destination in the Wine Country and the Town Plaza the sociable heart of the community.
