For over a decade, ROMA worked with the City of Suisun as the design architects initially in preparing the downtown plan and then assisting on numerous revitalization projects.  The plans for redevelopment created a sense of focus to the community, replacing an unsightly environment of ship repair sheds, warehouses and an oil refinery, a crime-ridden residential area, declining commercial uses and a polluted waterfront with a plaza, promenades, a marina and a mixture of new uses that reconnect the community with its downtown.  Projects included a new town square where community festivals take place and where residents come to relax and meet friends; Victorian Harbor, a moderate income neighborhood with traditional homes on tree-lined streets; a downtown train station restored and rehabilitated to become an intermodal facility; a 300-slip marina and waterfront promenade with Harbormaster’s Building and mixed use live, work and residential buildings and a commercially revitalized Main Street. transform the area from an underutilized industrial, commercial and residential
